Integration into the apps of public health insurance providers

BARMER: Health insurance for a healthier life

BARMER is one of the largest public health insurance companies in Germany. Its motto is to think ahead when it comes to health. BARMER actively supports more than 8.5 million insured members in all matters relating to health, illness and care, inspires them to lead healthier lives and encourages self-care by promoting individual health awareness.

BARMER is setting trends in the digitisation of healthcare, for example with its electronic patient file eCare, the Barmer app and many other digital services.

BARMER is the first health insurance provider to support the pilot project as a partner of the German publich health insurance system. In 2025, digitally structured EPILs will be integrated into BARMER’s digital offering. The aim is to better inform insured persons about the use of medicines and thus increase patient safety.

IKK Classic: The health insurance provider that takes excellent care of your health

With more than three million insured members, IKK classic is the leading provider of health insurance for skilled trades and one of the largest health insurance funds in Germany. It offers a modern mix of personal advice in around 160 branches and telephone and digital contact channels.

From online branches and useful apps to digital therapy programmes, IKK offers a wide range of digital services, making healthcare more efficient and flexible than ever before. These include the IKK classic app, the ePA and many other services.

Bertelsmann BKK: Exceptional in performance and service

With 50,000 insured members, Bertelsmann BKK is ideally positioned to meet the high demands of our members. Founded in 1957 on the initiative of Bertelsmann and leading works councils, BKK aims to offer employees the best health insurance.

As an innovative company health insurance fund, Bertelsmann BKK attaches great importance to digital solutions: receipts and invoices can be submitted easily in just a few clicks via the online office. The digital services also enable medical consultations via smartphone, helping to reduce waiting times. These include additional services such as telemedicine and online dermatology. Bertelsmann BKK is supported by BITMARCK and is the first company health insurance fund to plan to offer digital user information.

Enabler

BITMARCK: We digitize and connect for the most important thing in life – health.

As a managed service provider in the statutory health insurance IT market, BITMARCK is driving digitalization in the industry and among its customers with innovative products, solutions, and services. This is based on a statutory health insurance software standard that is used by the affiliated health insurance funds.

The group’s customers include company and guild health insurance funds, DAK-Gesundheit, and other substitute health insurance funds. Over 30,000 employees and around 25 million insured persons in the statutory health insurance system benefit from BITMARCK’s IT services, and more than 80 percent of German statutory health insurance funds are customers of the group.
